Examining the World Under a Microscope
Students in 6th grade science are learning how to properly use the microscope by viewing an “e” under the scope. Students soon discovered that everything you view with the microscope is upside down and backwards. Students then looked at different colors of paper, threads, hair and salt to practice focusing on low and high power. Now, students will be ready to start looking at cells next week as we learn the parts of both the animal and plant cells. Lots of “Wows” and “Ahhs’ were heard as students discovered how cool paper looks when it is magnified 400X.
